Jesus het vir ons gesê
om onvoorwaardelik lief te hê.
’n Opdrag om nie af te lag,
die volgende word van ons verwag:

“Jy moet die Here jou God liefhê met jou hele hart,
en jou hele siel en met jou hele verstand.
Gelykwaardig hieraan: Jy moet jou naaste liefhê soos jouself.
Aan hierdie gebooie hang die hele wet en profete.”

Wie ’n oor het, laat hom hoor!
Elkeen wat kan hoor, moet luister!
As jy liefhet, broer,
sal jy Sy opdragte uitvoer!

Liefde vir God is:
om Sy gebooie te gehoorsaam;
om uit die Bybel te leer van Sy wil
en Sy wil daadwerklik uit te leef;
om slegte gedagtes gevange te neem
sal jou nie daardeur van God vervreem.

Liefde vir jou naaste is:
om ’n ander se hart te bewaar;
om ’n ander so te behandel
soos jyself behandel wil word.
So werp jou brood op die water -
jy sal nooit sit met ’n leë bord nie.

Die grootste liefde is bewys
deur Jesus aan die kruis.
Genade deur Jesus bepaal ons lot,
versoeningsliefde bewerkstellig met God.

Love Brings Forth Love

Jesus told us
to love unconditionally.
A command not to mock,
but this is what’s expected of us:

"'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul,
and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."

Whoever has ears, let them hear!
Everyone who can hear, must listen!
If you love, brother,
you will keep His commands!

Love for God is:
to obey His commandments;
to learn from the Bible about His will,
and to actively live out His will;
Capturing and binding evil thoughts
will not estrange you from God.

Love for your neighbor is:
to guard another’s heart;
to treat another
as you wish to be treated yourself.
So cast your bread upon the waters -
you will never sit with an empty plate.

The greatest love was shown
by Jesus on the cross.
Grace through Jesus determines our fate,
Reconciliation love is accomplished with God.
